Case Study Intensive Courses

Operational and Strategic Courses

Our face to face classroom courses for the Case Study subjects are run over 5 intensive days and are scheduled within a short time frame before the exam week to ensure key knowledge remains fresh. These courses are designed to suit students who wish to submerge themselves in their studies and practice Case Study examinations equipping them with the necessary skills to tackle the Case Study style exams.

The tutor encourages students to develop an effective exam technique. This process allows students to dissect the scenarios and really understand the relevance of the issues raised within the context of the requirements.

Practice exam scripts, taken during the course, will be marked by the course tutor providing individual feedback on areas requiring improvement. This valuable resource enables students to learn from their weaker areas and put into practice the skills required to succeed in their Case Study exam.

Management Blended Courses

The Management Case Study course utilises the wonders of technology to bring you a flexible, blended course. The course combines the convenience of studying at home with the invaluable support provided by a classroom course but enables you to do the majority of your study at home – invaluable for those with other commitments.

Phase One: The introductory stage of the course can be completed at any time, you can even start this while you are still completing your objective tests. At this stage you will have access to a series of online presentations as well as a Study Text and technical revision notes. A detailed study programme will guide you through your preparation which will begin with an introduction to the case study, essential if you have exemptions from Operational Case Study. You will then be lead through the technical knowledge required for the Case Study exam – all material that you have studied for the objective tests – but we will think about how it may be relevant to, and examined in, the Case Study.

Phase Two: Pre-seen materials will be released to you approximately seven weeks before your Case Study exam. We will provide you with a tutor led walkthrough of these materials ensuring you pick up all of the relevant information. This will also help you to consider the technical aspects of the objective test exams which may be particularly examinable in the Case Study. After you have analysed the pre-seen materials you will be set a mock exam based on the pre-seen. An online presentation will be available to guide you through this. This will be marked and returned to you with detailed feedback provided.

Phase Three: The final phase of the course is when we finally get to meet face to face! Over the course of a weekend we will review the first homework mock and think about lessons learned and exam technique. We will share our pre-seen analysis and work through some practice exercises to help develop the appropriate skills for the exam. On the second day of the course a further mock will be set and this will be marked by your tutor before you leave the course, with one-to-one feedback. A third mock will be provided for you to take away for your final preparation work at home.
