Meet the team

I teach audit and financial reporting papers, this includes for ICAEW Assurance, Audit & Assurance, Financial Reporting and Corporate Reporting and for ACCA Audit & Assurance and Financial Reporting. I have been teaching at Reed for over 21 years. I love teaching because I like helping students to pass their exams and achieve their potential which I find rewarding.

I teach the tax papers for the ICAEW and ACCA exams– ICAEW PTX, TC and BPT and ACCA TX and ATX. I have been teaching at Reed Business School for over 20 years and love teaching here because of the wonderful students. As many of the students are residential they get to know each other well and this creates a great, friendly atmosphere in class.

I’ve been involved with the delivery of professional accountancy studies since 2000 and freelancing for Reed since 2017. I teach across ICAEW, ACCA and CIMA and specialise in all of the financial accounting, reporting, corporate reporting and audit subjects.

I have been teaching at Reed since 2017, and teaching accountancy since the turn of the century. I teach ‘everything but tax’ but in my old age have specialised in Financial Management and Case Study-style papers. I love working at Reed because of the sense of community.

I am an experienced management consultant and freelance lecturer, based in rural Northumberland. I have been teaching at Reed Business School for over a decade and specialise in CIMA Case Studies and E3/P3. I occasionally also teach ICAEW and ACCA business management and strategy papers.

I teach CIMA BA4, ACCA Business Law and ICAW Business Law. I have been teaching at Reed Business School for 22 years. Law is a very practical subject as much of the information can be used in everyday life. Reed Business School is in glorious grounds and the staff are all very helpful and particularly the food is excellent!

Throughout my CIMA training and qualification I worked in a mix of industries, including FMCG, technology, lifestyle, and the automotive industry. I retrained as a secondary Mathematics teacher and am now combining my two passions of accountancy and teaching. My specialist area is CIMA Management Accounting.

I have been teaching at Reed for twenty years now, across the ICAEW, CIMA and ACCA qualifications, concentrating on the audit and accounting papers. The students are keen, the location is amazing but, best of all, the staff are the most amazing people. Everyone is so willing to help each other out and everything is done with a smile.

I have been teaching at Reed for 3 years – focused on anything to do with business strategy, which completes the consultancy work that I continue to do. Why Reed? I find the students are engaged, motivated and more interesting than I have found in other organisations.

It is not only the beautiful manor building, grounds and other facilities at Reed that make it a pleasant place to work. It is the kind, helpful and generous staff from the night porter to admin staff, tutors and management that go out of their way to make Reed Business School, a place I look forward to teaching at.

I have been teaching Business Strategy and all things Tax across the UK since 1999. I used to work at a residential training centre in North Wales and am a great believer in the benefit that can be gained from studying ‘on site’ in a nurturing environment along with your peers.

I have been teaching across various ACCA, ACA and CIMA courses since 2014, specialising in strategy, operations and financial accounting. My role as a tutor is extremely satisfying and I love seeing students achieve their career goals through hard work and determination, with smiles along the way. I am an advocate of inclusive learning, and using practical examples to help aid classroom learning and experiences.

Alan left accountancy practice in the mid 80’s and is an established freelance tutor and author of accountancy study materials. He specialises in subjects of auditing, corporate governance, management theories for ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW qualifying examinations. He also has examination experience with CIMA where he was chief examiner for 10 years and ACCA where he was Audit and Assurance examiner for 5 years.

I qualified as a South African Chartered Accountant in 2010. Prior to joining academia, I worked as an Audit Manager at Deloitte and was fortunate to be seconded to the Deloitte offices in Dubai (UAE) and Tampa (USA). I teach Accounting and Auditing and have been a lecturer for the past 10 years. I strive to push my students to reach their full potential.

I have served on the inspections committee at the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) since 2019. The IRBA regulates audits in South Africa. I have also been involved in setting and marking the professional exams set by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

I have been a freelance lecturer since qualifying in 2013, teaching a mix of ACCA, ICAEW and CIMA courses. She specialises in Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, Performance and Financial Management.

I’m very personable and able to directly relate to all my students and give them the guidance, support and the technical skills they require to pass their exams.

I’m a FCCA qualified accountant in audit and accountancy services. I have been running my own professional accountancy training company for over 15 years developing learner focussed courses. I have extensive subject knowledge in all ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA and AAT qualifications, using innovative teaching methods. I have worked for Shell in Brunei for several years training their CIMA accountants along with working in a wide range of universities, FE colleges, and private education institutions such as BPP and First Intuition.

I am a Chartered Certified Accountant as well as a Chartered Tax Advisor, and so I am very much looking forward to teaching Audit, Financial Reporting and Taxation classes at Reed Business School. I completed my training contract in Audit, before I fancied a change, at which point I moved to work in Corporation Tax and spent most of my Practice career at Ernst & Young. Whilst at EY I got involved in training new graduates and enjoyed the teaching a lot more than working for clients, so eventually I moved to work full time in training at BPP, where I was for over 8 years, teaching across ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW courses.

With nearly 30 years of working in various roles across the finance sector, I have a wealth of practical knowledge and experience. Focussing over a decade of that time working on and managing AAT programs and apprenticeships. I just love AAT as a qualification for aspiring accountants.

I’ve been a Learning coach/Head coach with Reed Business School since accountancy apprenticeships started in 2018. I work with employers and apprentices in the Midlands and beyond. I have been involved in consulting, coaching and training projects for over 15 years and have a wealth of experience in the accounting and finance sector.

I am passionate about developing apprentices as I have experienced at first hand the competitive advantage of professional skills in the working environment. I enjoy working with the team at Reed Business School as they have a common sense approach, coupled with the agility to learn quickly.

I have been a Learning Coach for Reed since November 2018. My role is supporting ACA and ACCA students through the End Point Assessment, focusing on the accountancy professional standards skills and behaviours linked to the project report. I enjoy being part of the Reed team supporting students to flourish.

I’m a business coach and psychotherapist and have been a coach for Reed Business School since 2019. I love supporting apprentices as they develop the vital skills and behaviours which will help them succeed in business.

I am a Learning Coach and have been involved with Reed’s Apprenticeship Programme since 2018 and prior to that worked with apprentices from other sectors. I find that my wider business experience blends well with my coaching experience and qualifications in helping apprentices develop their skills.

I’ve been a Learning coach since 2019 and work with Reed Business School to support their students. I specialise in leadership, management and team development using a personality profiling tool called Insights Discovery. It is a real privilege to work with students completing their apprenticeship and to get to know one another.

I was one of the first Learning Coaches to join RBS back in 2018 – the best bit about being a Learning Coach is getting to know so many different students and seeing their progress over the course of the Apprenticeship. I’ve supported trainees through accountancy exams for over 15 years but fun fact: I am most definitely NOT an accountant 🙂

I am a skilled Management Development & Training practitioner with many years of experience working alongside clients as a consultant. I have helped them to achieve performance improvement at individual, team, and organisational levels. More recently I have been working with apprentices coaching them during their personal development journeys.

I work as a Coach and a Learning Facilitator and have been a Learning Coach with Reed since October 2020. All my work is based on my strong belief that, with the right level of encouragement, reflection and feedback, everyone can achieve their potential, and that this can often exceed their own expectations of themselves.

I am an experienced facilitator and trainer who works with teams and individuals to explore organisational culture. I enjoy working with team and individual strengths and using positive psychology to improve performance and the experience of work. I am new to Reed Business School and look forward to being part of a centre of excellence.
