Who knew you can actually win competitions you enter?!
At the beginning of the year the ACCA student newsletter popped into my email, scanning through to see what would be of interest and there I saw Reed were running a competition to win a paid for study and revision courses, AND to top it all off, accommodation thrown into the deal. Obviously I thought I would not win, but entered anyway. Sometime afterwards and to be honest forgetting that I had entered, I received an email from Reed Business School confirming that I was one of the lucky winners! Ecstatic was an understatement!
So without any delay, I booked myself onto the F6 Taxation paper, as could not let the opportunity of studying one of the more difficult papers with access to a multitude of potential support go to waste. Today was the first study day and it went pretty well. The tutor Rob is very knowledgeable, you could call him a Tax anorak, but in the most sincere manner! Definitely makes the learning experience enjoyable.
Everyone learns in different ways, but personally after my attempt at the F4 paper but via distance learning last year, which I sadly did not pass, then taught classes for the F5 (which I passed), face-to-face taught classes are definitely what works for me. And who knows, if I am successful and pass F6 first time, I may look into studying F4 with the Reed Business School next!
