We ask Meera, a student who attended a dedicated Strategic Business Management (SBM) course with Reed Business School, her experience on attending a dedicated SBM retake course.
Why did you choose Reed Business School?
One of the main reasons I chose Reed Business School was due to the successful pass rates of students who took their exams whilst studying with Reed Business School. The smaller size of classes also appealed to me as it would enable me to have a more in depth discussion with my tutors about any areas that I was concerned about. I also liked the idea of staying away from home, where I could fully immerse myself in study and not get distracted by other daily events. Strategic business management has audit/accounting aspects as well as business strategy/financial management aspects, so being taught by 2 different tutors who know their field well was important to me.
What were the tangible benefits of attending the SBM retake course?
I completed questions in my own time and handed them to tutors for marking and they were more than happy to take them in and provide feedback. I found this very helpful in improving my exam technique and by the end of the course I had a clearer idea on how to approach the exam.
What were your expectations and how were they met?
My expectation was to come away with a clearer understanding of the subject and better exam technique so I could pass the exam. I found the tutors focused on exam technique without getting too bogged down with the detail which I sometimes did. The immediate feedback helped me realise where I needed to elaborate my answers and where I could just save my time and not get so consumed with the details.
What else did you find beneficial?
The manor house itself is beautiful so there is the option to relax and take a break but there is also the option to study in the classrooms or back in your rooms. I also liked the idea of staying away from home and you are able to fully focus on the subject without having to worry about travelling or food or carrying heavy books.
Would you recommend a similar course by Reed to a colleague?
Yes, I would recommend a similar course by Reed, I passed my exams and am now a qualified accountant.
