What a great combo!

It tastes amazing and it gives such a great immune boost.

This is one of my first to go for foods when I or any of my family members start feeling under the weather or just want to strengthen the immunity…..we go straight for the papaya.

My daughter absolutely loves it! It is a perfect and easy way to increase the vitamin C levels.

  • Make sure the papaya fruit is ripe. Just cut it in half, scoop out the seeds and squeeze half of lime juice over it. The lime juice makes a big difference to its taste and smell.

Papaya is a great source of fibre, which is beneficial for a number of reasons: digestion, probiotic food, reducing LDL (bad) cholesterol levels as well as cleansing the intestines. Papaya is known to relieve constipation.

Papaya contains lots of enzymes. Papain and chymopapain enzyme are very well known for supporting protein digestion and wound healing, if used topically. (i)

It is also a rich source of potent antioxidants: vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C, B vitamins, magnesium and calcium. (ii)

Due to the rich content of phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals papaya has a strong anti-inflammatory property as well as anti-cancer activity. (iii)

 Limes are also rich in antioxidants.

They contain high levels of vitamin C which helps to fight off infections, they help with digestion due to their acidity, helps collagen synthesis, stimulates metabolism and much more. It is also very good in skin rejuvenation and promotes healthier, younger looking skin. (iv)
