Hello fellow ACCA students! Sorry it’s been a while since my last blog..
I hit the “one month to go” mark last Friday. Have you been counting down the days until yours? It’s that point when you don’t know if you just want the exam date to come quicker so you can just get it over with, or whether you wish for just a few more days to pack more revision in.
I don’t know about you, but a month to go is when panic mode always sets in – only 4 more weekends until D-day, I better chain myself to the desk and only be released to go to work! I wish I had that much self discipline (or strong enough chains!). In actual fact I have resorted to such measures as having my partner hide the TV remotes so I can’t waste any precious time on catching up with my favourite programmes (although inevitably some time is wasted in searching for them). One exam cycle I actually sold my mobile phone so I could concentrate on the last month undisturbed (this actually meant I spent more time checking my emails and social networks the old fashioned way). You know what they say “desperate times lead to desperate measures”.
However this time around I feel considerably less desperate. Probably because I’ve taken more care in preparation, done less of the “bad revising” and more of the good stuff – constructive revising and all that. And then there’s the piece of mind in knowing that I’m on this residential revision course with the Reed Business School only two weekends before my exam. Without a doubt this course will be the most productive weekend I would have had leading up to exam day. With a question based day, small group learning and of course the support of a great tutor to mark and feedback on your practice attempts, it will be invaluable exam preparation.
I’m quite looking forward to it actually, even more so because it will mean just one more weekend until I can stop thinking about P7. Cannot WAIT!! However you’re getting through it, good luck and stay focused – you’re nearly there.
Ursula 🙂 xo.
