What is the ACCA Qualification?

The ACCA qualification gives you the most up to date skills you need to become a finance professional. There are three stages of exams, plus an Ethics and Professional Skills module and a Professional Experience Requirement.

  1. Applied Knowledge
  2. Applied Skills
  3. Strategic Professional (2 essential and 2 optional modules must be completed)

Requirements

You need to have three GCSEs and two A-levels in five separate subjects including Maths and English (or equivalent) to be able to start the ACCA qualification, find out more about the minimum entrance requirements. It is quick and easy to become a registered ACCA student, you can apply online anytime of the year.

Apprenticeships

Reed Business School is listed on the Government Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers and approved to deliver apprenticeship training.  Student can study the full ACCA qualification (Level 7) under an Apprenticeship programme.  Find out more.

Any student that wishes to make a complaint to ACCA regarding RBS will be advised to first go through our complaints procedure:

If the complaint is not handled to your satisfaction, you (the student) then have the option to escalate the complaint to ACCA. If both RBS and ACCA’s processes have been exhausted, then escalate to the appropriate regulator. Details can be found on the ACCA website

Applied Knowledge

The Applied Knowledge exams are an exceptional introduction to the world of finance and accounting, providing you with a broad understanding of essential accounting techniques.

Once you’ve completed these three exams you’ll be awarded the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RFQ Level 4) and be eligible to start the Applied Skills Exams.

Business & Technology (BT/FBT)

The aim

You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of the business and its environment and the influence this has on how organisations are structured and on the role of accounting and other key business functions in contributing to the efficient, effective and ethical management and development of an organisation and its people and systems.

The aim

The aim

Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) (Essential)

The aim

The Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) exam requires you to demonstrate your ability to make strategic business reporting decisions. Set within the corporate reporting environment you will be tested on concepts, theories, principles and crucially your ability to apply this knowledge to real life scenarios.

Strategic Business Leader (SBL) (Essential)

The aim

SBL mirrors the workplace and provides you with real world challenges allowing you to demonstrate a blend of technical, practical and professional skills. Work through the Ethics and Professional Skills module either before you start, or alongside your studies. This gives you insight into professional skills that you can apply in your exam and in the workplace.

The aim

Tuition delivery

Integrated

We run short comprehensive integrated courses scheduled over 2 or 3 phases depending upon the subject. The courses cover the core syllabus providing structure and clear objectives to enable students to build the necessary subject knowledge required to secure a pass. Question practice in class and via on-line practice exams form part of the course structure. Using Microsoft Teams as the tuition platform allows for flexibility in learning and access to the tutor outside of class for remote assistance and support.

Full link & revision

We run full link courses comprising of a tuition course in 2 separate phases and a revision course. The tuition element covers the main areas of the syllabus and the revision course culminates with question practice and a full mock exam either taken as a whole mock or a question based day (QBD). Tutors and professional markers are on-site to mark the questions on a QBD and provide immediate feedback and question de-briefs. Students can attend a full link course or for those who may be re-sitting or have taken a home study course, a revision only course can be attended. Using Microsoft Teams as the tuition platform allows for flexibility in learning and access to the tutor outside of class for remote assistance and support.

Students can attend on a residential or non-residential basis. Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students attending our courses at no extra charge.

Residential options

For students who wish to stay overnight, we offer highly competitive rates on a full board basis – providing you with a study-bedroom and all meals on site. You don’t have to spend any time travelling to and from courses and can focus solely on your learning. Our accommodation rates compare very favourably to hotel costs enabling us to maximise the value of your spend on professional development. The rooms come as either single or premium (these are en-suite rooms with a range of single, double or king-sized beds)

CBE Exam Centre

Sit your exams in the comfort of The Manor

Reed Business School is an ACCA exam centre for the on-demand exams only and the exams are scheduled after a short period after the course has finished to allow for consolidation of knowledge and question practice. Each course is scheduled in a modular approach so can be taken 1 at a time.

Reed Business School is an ACCA CBE exam centre for BT, MA, FA and LW. Please note, a student must register with ACCA before they can sit an exam. If you are wish to book your exam with us, please complete our ACCA enrolment form. If you are not attending one of our courses and you wish to book your ACCA CBE with us, please download our computer based exam (CBE) dates, complete and return a booking form to us.
